Our mission

Why we exist

Our goal is to offer health professionals, carers and clients the most qualified and friendly trades in the sector. We understand health professionals are stretched for resources and clients & their carers are facing difficult challenges so our trades are punctual, polite and tidy. We also strive to streamline administration and use technology whenever it can make life easier.

Empathy

Bright Point Building is a family business, whose own family members have faced health and mobility challenges. We have first-hand knowledge of the mobility difficulties many of our clients confront and empathy for the challenges they face.


About the business

Location

Our home base is in Freshwater however Bright Point Building completes specialist work such as hoist installations in metro & regional areas throughout NSW & the ACT. Minor Modifications (e.g; grab rails) and Major Modifications (e.g; bathroom renovations) are focussed within the Greater Sydney region. Please do not hesitate in contacting us.

Qualifications and Partnerships

Bright Point Building is a member of the Housing Industry of Australia, the peak industry association for construction. We are licensed with Fair Trading NSW and have a thorough knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and the National Construction Code. We look to exceed these standards by utilising guidelines from;

  • AS 1428.1 - 2009. Design for access and mobility.

  • NDIS Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Design Standard.

  • Liveable Housing Australia (LHA).

Qualifications: Business founder Kym Pardey

Construction:

  • Certificate IV: Building & Construction

  • Certificate III: Carpentry and Joinery

  • Building experience: Kym developed his Carpentry & Joinery trade with a premier residential building firm servicing Sydney’s Northern Beaches and North Shore, working on bespoke architectural projects that have won awards with Master Building Australia and the Housing Institute of Australia. Kym also has a solid history in heritage renovations and development of new, modern homes.

  • Personal Awards: Two-time recipient of the HIA Carpentry Apprentice of the year award.

Business Administration:

  • ‘Bachelor of Business’ from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Prior to moving into the construction industry, Kym held a number of senior management positions with multi-national corporations.
